enhance your Pantanal experience, visit the natural wonders
of Chapada dos Guimarães National Park, an area
of beautiful waterfalls, cataracts, caves and wind sculpture
rock formations. This trip also includes snorkeling in
crystal clear waters on the Salobra River teeming with
fish, and an excursion to a pristine blue lake in Nobres,
a small town near Chapada dos Guimarães National
Park that is every bit as spectacular as the one near

PANTANAL, CHAPADA DOS GUIMARAES AND NOBRES TOUR
EXAMPLE ITINERARY: 7 DAYS
Day
1 – Arrive at
the airport of Cuiabá; reception and transfer to Poconé
(105 km), continuing on the Transpantaneira road up to Pousada
Piuval; wildlife photography along the way to the lodge;
welcome drink and accommodation; afternoon trekking around
the lodge area; dinner; a spotlighting tour and overnightat
the lodge.
Day 2 – Breakfast, exploring activities starting
with hiking trails to observe the wildlife and ecosystem;
after lunch horseback riding trip in search of more elusive
wildlife; after dinner wildlife spotlighting looking for nocturnal
creatures; overnight at the lodge.
Day 3 - Early breakfast and travel 50 km by vehicle
along the Transpantaneira Road to the Pixaim River; stops
along the way for wildlife photography and bird watching;
boat tour to explore the Pixaim River-with good chances to
spot capybaras, giant river-otters and others; time for piranha
fishing; picnic lunch; return to the lodge late afternoon,
spotlighting along the way; dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 4 - Early morning sunrise walk to enjoy the birds
and wildlife.
After breakfast departure to the Chapada dos Guimarães
National Park (170 km). Arrive to the park for lunch at a
local restaurant. After lunch visit to the Véu-de-Noiva
waterfall, hikealong the trail Sete Quedas and bath in crystal
clear waterfalls. Later continue travel (10km) to the city
of Chapada do Guimarães for dinner and overnight at
a local hotel.
Day 5 - Early breakfast, hotel check-out and departure
to continue our exploration to the National Park. Visits include
Cidade-de-Pedra, Portão do Inferno, Mirante, Morro
dos Ventos. Picnic lunch and travel 160km in to the Vila-de-Bom-Jardim,
a small village located north-west from the Park. Check in,
dinner and overnight at a local guest-house.
Day 6 – Breakfast, full day exploration of
the area. Activities include snorkeling amongst fish in the
crystalline waters of the Rio Salobra. (Optional activity:
Scuba Diving (if you have a basic certificate) in deep lakes
teeming with fish). Return to the guest-house late afternoon
for dinner and overnight.
Day 7 - Breakfast, visit the Estivado River for swimming,
relaxing and enjoying nature; bird and wildlife observation;
lunch, hotel check out and return to Cuiabá; drop off
at the airport or hotel.
ACCOMMODATION: Pantanal lodge, hotel in Chapada dos Guimarães
city and guest-house in Nobres.
TRANSPORTATION: Ecoexplorer van or minibus.
PRICE: Tour price varies with the size of the tour group, please consult.
WHAT IS INCLUDED: Transportation in/out from Cuiabá,
3 overnights at a Pantanal lodge, 3 overnights at hotels,
all meals during the tour, guided excursions with bilingual
guides with knowledge of local flora and fauna.
NOT INCLUDED: Laundry, phone calls, personal expenses,
soft drinks/beverages, and meals during transfers, airport
taxes, and drinks with the meals, tours and option not described
in the itinerary, medical expenses & hospitalization,
and optional night in Cuiabá.
WHAT TO BRING: T-shirts, long-sleeved shirts, sneakers
or hiking boots, jeans or loose-fitting long pants, hat, sunscreen,
mosquito repellent, binoculars, flashlight, camera and film.
Sweatshirt or sweater recommended from June to September.
